Softrock v6.2 Lite
W ramach przygotowań do egzaminu Itermediate, zostałem poproszony przez kolegę Davida GI4FUM, aby poskładać dla niego w/w odbiornik SDR, jest to starsza konstrukcja, która przeleżała u niego w szufladzie kilka lat.

Softrock to jedena z najpopularniejszych konstrukcji obecnie – jest tani i w miarę łatwy w montażu, kit można zamówić na https://www.kb9yig.com/ , jeśli oczywiście jest dostępny, na grupie yahoo ( http://groups.yahoo.com/group/softrock40 ) oraz na facebook (http://www.facebook.com/groups/softrock40/ ) jest wielu pomocnych ludzi, pozatym na grupach jest ogłaszana dostępność kitów.
Antena ramowa na 80m
Mój projekt zaliczeniowy do licencji Intermediate to Softrock na 80m z kitu kolegi Tonego KB9YIG. Kit dotarł dzisiaj – czyli w poniedziałek 06-02-2011. Kilka dni temu rozpocząłem konstrukcję anteny dla tego SDR, antena to prosta konstrukcja ramowa, wybór jak zwykle podyktowany jest brakiem miejsca na inne – czytaj – większe anteny, w internecie jest wiele opinii o tej antenie, od skrajnie dobrych do skrajnie złych. Wiadomo że większa antena, byłaby lepsza – mam jednak nadzieję ze na tej, też będzie coś słychać.
Poniżej kilka zdjęć z początkowej fazy konstrukcji, zrobiona jest już pętla sprzęgająca, brakuje trymera wysokonapięciowego 25pF – ale może uda mi się go upolować na Ebay albo może od kogoś.
Antena Rybakov
W związku z tym że prace nad Ensemble RXTX oraz UHFSDR posuwają się do przodu, zadecydowałem, że moją pierwszą anteną będzie Rybakov – niski koszt, oraz małe (szerokościowo) wymiary przeważyły szalę. Jak narazie wykonałem balun dopasowujący oraz zakupiłem wędkę (fiberglass) na ebay. Continue reading
RS-39 Chibis-M deploys tonight
RS-39 will be deployed at around 23:18:30 UT on Tuesday, January 24, and radio amateurs are asked to send reception reports.
RS-39 has CW beacons on 435.315 and 435.215 MHz that can be received directly by schools and colleges for educational outreach purposes.
The team of RS-39 will very much appreciate any reception reports of “Chibis-M”. Special attention is requested for the first orbits as these are outside of control stations for “Chibis-M”. Each report will be confirmed by special QSL card. The email address is

Disturbed solar conditions
We are currently experiencing very disturbed solar conditions, which should create some interesting propagation over the next day or so.
A large CME hit Sunday, which resulted in visible aurora being spotted in Northern UK/Scotland last night, but there is more to come.
As I write this, the proton flux has reached the highest level for seven years. This is as a result of an M class flare in the early hours of 23rd January.
As a result we are now experiencing a polar cap absorbtion event.
The prediction now is that a powerful CME (coronal mass ejection) is headed our way and may hit around noon/afternoon on Tuesday.
If it does, expect the K and A indices to rise as the CME hits the earth’s magnetosphere.
Expect the possibility of visual aurora in Northern UK and auroral radio propagation on 28MHz, 50MHz and 144MHz. The HF bands may be very disturbed, even closed -especially to northern paths. Expect noise levels to be high too.
